Every willow coffin we make is woven by hand in our flower barn workshop, using traditional techniques.
Fully biodegradable, with no plastics or metal fixings, each one returns gently and completely to the earth, making them ideal for natural burial grounds, woodland burial sites, and cremations.
Because each coffin is made to order here in Jersey, families are welcome to be a part of the process. If you'd like to, you can visit the workshop and weave a section of the coffin yourself. A quiet, hands-on way to be involved that many people find comforting.

1. It starts with the willow
bundles sorted and soaked, ready for weaving.
2. Laying the base
The foundation of every coffin.
3. Building the sides
Row by row, woven by hand.
4. Shaping and strengthening
The border that holds it all together.
5. Sewing the lining
The organic calico lining, hand carved toggles and finishing touches, stitched by Elise on her sewing machine.
6. The finished coffin
Ready, with handles and lining.
6. Dressed with farm flowers
Seasonal, foam-free tributes grown here too.
Some decisions are easier made in your own time, without pressure. More people are choosing to arrange things in advance; partly for themselves, and partly as a kindness to the people they love.
With our Coffin Plan, you can choose and arrange your willow coffin ahead of time
You only pay once your coffin is finished, at the price agreed when you order.
After that, everything is settled, however far in the future it may be needed.
If you'd like, you can come in and help weave a section of your coffin with us.
Your coffin can stay stored with us on the farm until it's needed, at no extra charge. (You're welcome to keep it at home instead, some people do.)
There's no urgency and no obligation. If you'd simply like to talk it through first, Elise is always happy to answer questions by email, message or call.

Contact us by pressing the button below. Whether that's a Coffin Plan for the future, made-to-measure sizing, or just some questions answered, Elise will guide you through the options personally, with no pressure at any stage. Funeral directors are also welcome to get in touch.
